This policy describes how Klarälvdalens Datakonsult AB (“KDAB”, “we”, “us”) handles personal data in the Suits application published on Google Play.
Suits is a meeting and event management application that KDAB built for its own staff. The version on Google Play connects to a public demonstration server so that anyone can try the application. It also allows KDAB staff to connect to KDAB’s internal server.
The demonstration server is public. Everyone who uses it signs in with the same two shared accounts, and the sign-in details for those accounts are published in the project documentation.
Anything you type into the demonstration server, and any file you upload to it, is visible to every other person using the demonstration and to anyone who installs the application.
Do not enter personal data, confidential information, or any file you would not publish openly.

For questions about the Suits application specifically:
The demonstration server starts with fake accounts, meetings, rooms, events, and proposals. None of it describes real people.
While you use the demonstration you can create, edit, and delete meetings, rooms, events, and proposals, and you can upload files and a profile picture. Whatever you enter or upload is stored on the demonstration server until the next weekly rebuild.
The demonstration does not let you create an account. The two shared accounts are created by the server and cannot be changed or removed from within the application.
The application keeps a copy of the information it has loaded on your device so that it can start quickly and work with a poor connection. This includes users, meetings, events, and files.
The sign-in details you enter are stored in your device’s secure storage.
Files you open from the application are written to your device as working copies.
Uninstalling the application removes all of this.
Suits asks Android for permission to schedule exact alarms, and for permission to show notifications.
Both are used for one thing: reminding you about a meeting or an event shortly before it starts. The reminders are prepared and shown on your device. Nothing about them is sent anywhere.
Suits keeps the reminders you have set after the device restarts, which is why it also asks to be notified when the device finishes starting up.
Reminders can be turned off in the application’s settings.
The demonstration server rebuilds its data every week. Everything entered since the previous rebuild is deleted at that point, including uploaded files.
Crash reports are kept only for as long as they are useful for diagnosing a fault. KDAB’s Sentry service deletes them automatically once they reach the retention limit set for it.
Suits uses Sentry, which KDAB runs on its own servers at sentry10.kdab.com. No crash reporting company receives this data.
Sentry receives the application version, operating system and device information, stack traces and error information, application performance information, and the IP address the report was sent from.
Suits does not send the contents of meetings, rooms, events, proposals, or uploaded files to Sentry.
This information is used only to find and fix faults in the application. It is not used for advertising or profiling.
Crash reporting is not optional in the Android version of Suits. It cannot be turned off, and it is switched on whenever the application runs.
Suits contains no advertising.
Suits contains no analytics or behavioural tracking.
KDAB does not sell personal data and does not share it with advertisers, data brokers, or any other organisation. All data handled by Suits stays on KDAB’s own servers.
The application communicates with the server over an encrypted connection.
The demonstration server is deliberately open, as described at the top of this policy. It is not a secure place to keep information.
KDAB takes reasonable technical and organisational measures to protect the data on its servers, though no method of electronic storage or transmission can be guaranteed to be completely secure.
KDAB processes the small amount of personal data described here in order to provide a working public demonstration of Suits and to keep the application reliable and free of faults. The legal basis is KDAB’s legitimate interest in demonstrating and maintaining its own software.
Under the General Data Protection Regulation you may have the right to access your personal data, to have inaccurate data corrected, to request deletion, to request that processing be restricted, to object to processing, and to data portability.

You also have the right to complain to a data protection supervisory authority. KDAB is established in Sweden, where the authority is the Swedish Authority for Privacy Protection (Integritetsskyddsmyndigheten, IMY).
KDAB employees can point the application at KDAB’s internal Suits server instead of the demonstration server. That use is covered by KDAB’s internal privacy notice for employees rather than by this policy.
Suits is not directed at children and KDAB does not knowingly collect personal data from children through it.
We may update this policy to reflect changes to the application or to legal requirements. The effective date at the top will be changed when we do.
